Bio

Jamaican descent Sean Paul burst into the global mainstream in the early 2000s with pop-friendly party jams like 'Get Busy' from his Grammy-winning Dutty Rock album, plus the chart-topping hit 'Temperature.' An early proponent of the dancehall pop trend, Paul also gained a reputation as a worthy guest star, featuring on Beyoncé's`1 hit 'Baby Boy.' His 2018 EP Mad Love: The Prequel took him back to the spotlight, featuring big hits including 'No Lie' with Dua Lipa and 'Mad Love' with David Guetta and Becky G. Paul continued his success in the next decade with a string of singles including Tove Lo's 'Calling on Me.' collaboration in 2020.

Life & Career

Sean Paul released his debut album 'Stage One' in 2000 which was well-received by the audiences. His 2009 album' Imperial Blaze' was viral not just in Jamaica, but also on the international front. It reached No.1 in Japan and was certified gold in France where it debuted at No.8. It was among the Top Ten Albums in other countries like United Arab and Canada as well. In the years that followed, Paul would appear on notable singles by Enrique Iglesias, Major Lazer, and Pharrell Williams. Still, it wasn't until 2016 that he would experience massive chart resurgence, appearing on hits by Sia (the Grammy-nominated 'Cheap Thrills'), Little Mix ('Hair'), Clean Bandit ('Rockabye'), and Dua Lipa ('No Lie'). In early 2020, he and Tove Lo collaborated on the single 'Calling on Me.'
