Rediscovering Everclear: From Platinum Hits to Modern Nostalgia

Riding the waves of alternative rock, Everclear, an American band originating from Portland, Oregon, has been a name synonymous with the post-grunge era. Art Alexakis, the charismatic frontman, founded the band in 1991. Known for his evocative songwriting, powerful vocals, and guitar prowess, Alexakis led Everclear to commercial success in the 90s with Craig Montoya on bass and Greg Eklund on drums completing the classic lineup.

The band's journey began with the independently released 'World of Noise', but it was their subsequent albums on Capitol Records - 'Sparkle and Fade', 'So Much for the Afterglow', and 'Songs from an American Movie Vol. One: Learning How to Smile' that truly catapulted them to fame, each achieving platinum status. However, their later works 'Good Time for a Bad Attitude' and 'Slow Motion Daydream' witnessed a decline in reception.

In 2003, amidst waning album sales, Montoya and Eklund departed from Everclear. Yet, the ever-resilient Alexakis persevered, revamping the band's lineup and continuing to create music. Albums like 'Welcome to the Drama Club' and 'Invisible Stars' signaled a new chapter for Everclear.

To the delight of fans, Alexakis then conceived the Summerland Tour in 2012, a celebration of 90s alternative rock nostalgia, with Everclear sharing the stage with other iconic bands of the decade. And in 2015, Everclear further expanded their discography with 'Black is the New Black'
